User Groups 1.4
→ Add social groups to your site.
The User Groups Module’s purpose is to bring the concept of Web 2.0 groups to ExpressionEngine. Sites like Facebook, MySpace, and LinkedIn all have this functionality, and now your sites can too!
Traditional Member Groups in ExpressionEngine are meant for managing permissions and access, but are not designed to enable collaboration on the front-end. The User Groups module has been built from the ground up to enable registered members of your site to create and manage group info, join other people’s groups, and hold discussions within groups.
The User Groups Module allows you to manage and view your groups from the Control Panel, but the power of the module is on the front-end templates.
